A DVD/VHS which combines ancient and modern aspects
of the Mayan civilization in Yucatan. The pre-Hispanic
culture is studied at the ruins Tulum, Chichén Itzá, Uxmal
and several other sites. We visit several of the 16th
century convents. Especially impressive is the convent at
Izamal. The one at Maní is famous for being the place
where Bishop de Landa burned the Mayan codices. Then
we stop at a factory where the fibers are extracted from
the henequen plant. Finally, we see the important historical
sites of Mérida and end with two of the typical folk dances
of Yucatan.
