founding of Tenochtitlán and their expansion prior to the
arrival of the Spaniards. Included are explanations of
several artistic treasures including the "Piedra de Tízoc"
the "Piedra del Sol" and the Aztec Calendar. In the Zócalo
we see the reconstruction of the "Templo Mayor" and also
compare it with a model as it may have looked at the
height of the Aztec Empire. Also, we observe how the
modern descendants of the Aztecs live through their
festivals such as the "Voladores" and "El Día de los
Muertos."
